Volunteer Opportunities & Guidelines
At Trinidad School, we deeply value the partnership between our school, families, and community members. Volunteers support our students through classroom assistance, field trip chaperoning, school events, and special enrichment presentations. To maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, all volunteers are asked to review our district guidelines and complete the required safety clearances.
Required Clearances & Documents
Student safety is our top priority. The following items must be on file with the district office:
- Government-Issued Photo ID: Driver's license, state ID, or passport (renewed annually).
- Fingerprinting & LiveScan Background Check: Mandatory for all volunteers through the CA Department of Justice and FBI. Forms are available in the front office.
- Signed Acknowledgment Form: Confirmation of reading the Parent Volunteer Handbook.
Field Trip & Parent Driver Requirements
Parents wishing to serve as volunteer drivers for off-campus trips must submit the following annually prior to transporting students:
- Valid Driver's License
- Official DMV Driving Record (MVR printout dated within the last 90 days)
- Proof of Auto Insurance (meeting California minimum liability limits)
- Completed Field Trip Driver Form
Campus Sign-In & Safety Expectations
- Check-In: All visitors and volunteers must report directly to the main office upon arrival, present photo ID, and wear a visitor badge while on campus.
- Confidentiality: Student academic performance, behavior, and personal details observed during volunteering must remain strictly confidential.
- No Photos/Videos: Photographing or recording students is strictly prohibited.
- No Non-Enrolled Siblings: To maintain safety and liability compliance, siblings or other non-enrolled children may not accompany volunteers during classroom or field trip activities.
